Chers familles de division 6,
This week in French Language Arts students are practicing their last dictée sentences. Students are also writing a final letter to their Doncaster pen pals, whom they will be meeting next Friday, June 12th at Crystal Pool. Students are also doing a French reading comprehension test. In English, students are learning about long vowels sounds, doing some journal writing and continuing their animal PowerPoint science project. We are discussing all the important aspects of writing such as sentence structure, punctuation, spelling, plurals and style, to help us consciously apply all important aspects of writing we have been learning since October.
In Math today we reviewed Term 3 math concepts in geometry, perimeter, fractions and addition/subtraction of 3 digit numbers. There will be a test tomorrow (Tuesday). The rest of the week, students are continuing to practice basic multiplication and division.
In Social Studies, students will be sharing what they have learned about their favourite Canadian province or territory, which they have been learning about for the past several weeks. In small groups, students will present their provincial or territorial features such as the flower, bird, flag, slogan and capital city.
In PE, we are working hard on polishing up the dance we are performing this Friday June 12th at our final monthly assembly. Please come and join us in the gym around 9am to see our performance.
On Tuesday, the Greater Victoria Public Library is visiting Quadra School to help inspire our budding readers. In addition to visiting the libraries, students will learn about some of their amazing online resources such as TumbleBooks. This is one of the best audio book websites, perfect for learning and practicing to read in both French and English, especially throughout the summer months.
Have a wonderful week, Mme Garcin
