Chers familles de Division 6,
Students are doing a variety of activities this week. We are integrating Language Arts and Space Science by writing and illustrating a constellation legend. Today, many students presented their constellation legends to the class. In groups of 2, students also read and compared the similarities and differences of their constellations. Once we finish, students will begin writing a postcard describing their favourite planet.
In Math we are learning and practicing dice games, patterns and strategies for multiplying numbers up to 5 times 5. We are also continuing with our daily 3-digit number of the day, where students share their personal strategies when adding and subtracting large numbers.
In the computer lab, students are honing their typing skills and learning shortcuts for inserting French accents (using an English keyboard). Last week we started our Aboriginal sewing project, and with much anticipation, students will be continuing them on Wednesday!
To end the week, students have a special rhythmic gymnastics class on Friday, and another exciting visit from storyteller extraordinaire Mr Clark, our district Aboriginal cultural liaison.
